Breaking Boards

Yes, I'm breaking boards now! It's a new addition to the curriculum. We got to practice with the "re-usable" boards. I wonder how the real wood will feel. The practice boards are great, but they're not as intimidating as real wood. You can see the "break" in the practice boards! Can't wait to give the real stuff a try!

I have both 4 and 5 pinons now. I practice them every day. They're a bit difficult, but I'm getting help with the finer points from the instructors. Sensei L helped me just yesterday. I explained to her that it's not often that I get to see someone else do the whole form. So, it's difficult to get the timing right. I'll have to ask someone to show me the complete forms. This way I can judge how "fast/slow" I need to go. Timing is very important.

WEAPONS

Weapons are great! I definitely need to practice, though, and often! I'm also learning 4 and 5 pinan. I'm enjoying that, too, but practice, practice, and more practice!!! Did I mention that I have to practice???
